SINOPSIS

This story is the result of traditional historical writing, written around the 1800s, which provides information about the origins of the lineage of the kings of Kedah from the perspective of myth and legend. The reliability of this anonymous poet from the Kedah court is to combine both mythological elements and historical reality in his writing.

Among them are the stories of Prophet Sulaiman, Seri Rama, Hanuman, and the bird of prey; the people's rebellion against Raja Bersiung; the story of Raja Buluh Betung and Puteri Seluang; the relationship of the Kedah state government with Siam; the adventures of Sheikh Abdullah with the devil prince; and the process of Islamization of the king of Kedah and the change in his style of government according to Islam.
